EDD GREER-BIO
NASHVILLE RECORDING ARTIST
CASTLE/TOWER RECORDS-MUSIC ROW
NASHVILLE, NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES
HOMETOWN- RAYVILLE, LOUISIANA
When Edd was 6 years old his family would take him
In dancehalls in Louisiana and Mississippi and put
Him in front of the jukeboxes and he would dance like
Elvis. They had him dressed in blue suede shoes, black
Leather jacket, and collar turn up and hair combed back.
The crowds loved him and would throw money on the
Floor in front of him. He did not realize it but this was
The beginning of his music career. His father gave him
A guitar at age 12 and he learned to play throughout
High school. No matter where he went he always had
A guitar with him. It was not until years later when he
Was playing guitar in a Church outreach program
doing jail services when a promoter noticed him.
He was asked to come into a local recording studio to do
Some demos. One year later his first record was pressed in
Nashville and titled “ AMERICAN FARMER” The record
Were released and played on radio stations throughout
The south and made its way into the international airwaves.
A talent manager named Carol Booth signed him to a
Contract to negotiate him a record deal in Nashville.
Carol Booth was the manager who first signed Tim McGraw
To a contract and took him to Nashville to meet with Curb
Records. Both Edd and Tim’s first songs were recorded
In a small studio named JY STUDIOS downtown in West
Monroe, La. After Edd signed with Carol Booth he started
Perfoming shows and opening for Nashville stars Randy
Travis, Earl Thomas Conley, Mike Snyder, and Willie Nelson.
After the success of the record a CMT video was produced
and filmed at KNOE TV –8 Monroe, Louisiana. The video
broadcast on CMT on Valentines Day 1988 in New York.
After the release of the CMT video he continued to perform
Opening shows, concerts, at fairs, festivals, clubs, etc.
For years as they say “ paying his dues” In the summer
Of 2002 he got a phone call from Mr. Ed Russell CEO of
Castle/Tower Records on Music Row Nashville. He told
Him he had been listening to some of his music and wanted
How quick he could get up to meet with him. Within 30 days
Edd and his wife Carol Ann made it up to music row where he
Was signed to a recording contract with Castle/Tower Records. Next they began working on his
first album. His debut album titled“ OVERDRIVE” was released into the market and placed on record
shelves all over the world. He was so excited to go into the record stores and see his albums
Between Amy Grant and Lee Greenwood.
He recalls driving down the highway turning the channels
And hearing his songs being played. In February 2003 he was
Asked to be on the CBS morning show and his fan club was
Getting a lot of mail everyday now. Two of the songs off the
Album started charting. Big Star Bound Nashville and Shook
Me Up –both hit the international NAR charts and started to
Climb. Within 60 days both had hit the number one spot and
